
Early detection of ground faults on ungrounded systems allows critical systems to remain online while faults are identified and resolved. By continuously monitoring the system's insulation resistance, Bender's ground-fault detectors can provide early indication of both immediate and trending ground faults before leakage current may be of concern.
Bender's advanced insulation monitoring technology detects symmetrical and asymmetrical faults on both AC and DC systems, as well as systems with variable frequency drives and other power conversion equipment. When the configurable discrete alarm value is exceeded, it activates a variety of outputs to ensure technicians are notified. The patented Bender measurement signal works similar to a ‘megger’ but while the system is energized and online.
